ShakaFest is a festival event slated to run at Sunset on the Beach, Waikiki on Saturday, April 30, 2022 during Golden Week as a shooting scene to make the concepts of aloha and paradise visual for the ending payoff scene in the film. 6-10,000 locals and visitors will be welcomed to the free event with surrounding hotel sponsors hosting VIP receptions and simulcasts at hotel sites. The event will feature rough cut sample scenes, music soundtrack performances by music director and composer Henry Kapono and Shaka Contest vignettes judged by Kupuna from the film’s opening interviews. ShakaFest is also a brand-building event to build awareness and demand for the film thus is designed with social media influencers in mind.
