The film explores the cultural roots and global impact of the Shaka — Hawaiʻi’s iconic gesture representing kindness, connection, and the Aloha Spirit. Created by Hawaiʻi producer and writer Steve Sue, the documentary is the result of a five-year journey to uncover the deeper meaning behind a symbol recognized around the world.

After earning multiple honors, including the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival People’s Choice Award for Best Feature Documentary, the film is now available to audiences everywhere.
