Shaka, A Story of Aloha will screen for the Hawaiʻi State Legislature on April, 15, 2025, 3:30-5:00pm at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol Auditorium. All Legislative leaders and staff are invited to join free.
A Primer for Aloha through the Shaka
The screening is a mahalo to Hawaiʻi leaders for passing the Shaka Official State Gesture Bill, last session, culminating with Governor Green signing the Bill into law in June, 2025. Says film producer Steve Sue, “The Shaka is the first state gesture ever and itʻs a deep story that spans 110 years, so we want to make sure that legislators know the history, deep meanings and uses of the gesture.”
And Thereʻs More!
Attendees will receive commemorative Shaka lapel pins and witness the announcement of the next film in the Project Shaka trilogy of Aloha Spirit films.
